MEMBER OF THE YEAR 2011 Each year we recognize one of our members who most represents the dedication and spirit of Blackhawk Valley. This is the moment we can let others know the efforts of one in our club who - if you met them at the track – could be said "he , or she is from BVR.." What do we look for in Member of the Year ? We look for commitment to the club over a long time, sharing – whether time, work or talent. We look for a willing attitude: willing to help when asked, and lastly, being an ambassador while engaged in events outside our realm here at Blackhawk. You can see this has always been a real task to choose someone. In a previous role this person has been a driver, an Instructor at Drivers Schools, and board positions. Joining in 1961, the individual has been a friendly smile for a few decades. All those years of experience did not get parked when he parked the car. With his heart in BVR, he turned his talents toward steering our club into the 21st century. As we had lost most of our stewards, he became our newest steward some years ago and made sure our region was treated as an equal. When our large division was splitting in half, he worked with the other regions to insure BVR would not take a back seat. We can thank him for his unfailing efforts that have insured BVR has not been left behind in the new Cendiv. Meanwhile at every race, here and other tracks as a steward, his experience gives a guiding hand to new drivers, evenhanded scolding to veteran drivers, and quick decisions rather than long debates. When one hears his name one thinks of BVR and all that we stand for - please accept our thanks Please recognize Bob Lybarger, Member of the Year 2011
