You’re Invited to Join Us for a Fantastic Fourth of July

What are you plans for the July 4th weekend? My plans are to take in a Minnesota Twins Game at the new Target Field on Thursday evening, then head up to Brainerd International Raceway (BIR) on Friday morning for the return of SCCA Club Racing to Land o’ Lakes region. My name is Carrie Carlson and I am a Land o’ Lakes region board member and incredibly excited for the first SCCA Club Race on BIR’s new 2.5 mile course. I would like to personally extend an invitation to you on behalf of our region to join us.

You are probably asking yourself, “Why should I go to an event all the way in Brainerd, Minnesota?” I don’t blame you for wondering. We have a dedicated group of volunteers who are working hard to make this the best event ever not just for drivers but also for volunteers. For drivers, we are offering you the opportunity to run four races with just one tow. We are working on some great perks for our volunteers, as well, including free camping at the track (hook ups not included). Our race organizers are promising an unforgettable event for everyone.

In addition to the SCCA Club Race (as if you need more than that), there will be Show & Go drag racing running concurrently with our event (and into the evening). A Classic Car will take place throughout the weekend. Fireworks are planned for the evening and the track has a live band scheduled to perform (in one of the main buildings).

The Brainerd Lakes Area is a premier vacation destination for many. Bring your family and stay a while. Enjoy some of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes; rumor has it the fish will be biting. Fantastic shopping, site seeing, water parks, fishing and golfing at some of the nation’s finest courses are just a taste of what you can enjoy in our neck of the woods; not to mention a great SCCA Club Racing event. Make sure you make your hotel reservations soon if you don’t plan on camping at the track.
