WORKER OF THE YEAR 2007

With the end of the season, we on the Board look for someone whose efforts went above and beyond what is expected.  The Award we give is a in part, recognition for what is selfless dedication to our club.

What we saw was two  people  who deserved our applause.

Both have been members since 1987. Until two years ago, both were corner workers, one also is now the Road America photographer.  This member supplies us with photos of the Firecracker.

She got extremely involved 4 years ago when she discovered Registration and found that not only was she good at it but also loved it!!  She enjoys seeing the workers from all specialties and likes to get to know the drivers.  She is interested in taking over the Chief of the National starting next year.

He starting helping with Registration at the end of 2006.  He is always at the track on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings to make sure that the workers are registered quickly. He will also help with drivers when needed.

This husband and wife couple makes sure that they are at both Blackhawk and Road America to help with registration set up. When Chicago region lost their storage space in the tech barn at Road America they worked with the Road America management to secure a new area for registration to store their equipment.  The amount of equipment to run this specialty is enormous and having a place to store it means that the regions do not have to cover the cost of storage and transportation.

She has been instrumental in getting the worker raffle prizes for our region. If you have ever won a grill, cooler, chair, or any number of large prizes that we were able to give away, she is to thank for those. She spends all year looking for those exceptional deals that allow us to reward our workers for the time that they spend every year volunteering and making our races the best in the Midwest.

We sincerely thank the Lacis – for their great help this year and before.

The Worker of the Year  - goes to Edmund and Andrea Lacis.
